中国科学院生物物理研究所,生物大分子重点实验室,研究组长
2013年5月至今,在中国科学院生物物理所生物大分子国家重点实验室担任PI研究员。2021年3月开始在中国科学院深圳理工大学(筹)合成生物学院担任名誉院长、讲席教授。
1982年毕业于湖北大学生物系,1985年在中国科学院武汉病毒所获硕士学位(微生物学专业),1995年在中国科学院微生物所获博士学位(生物化学专业)。
1993年在中国科学院武汉病毒所晋升研究员。1992年起历任中国科学院武汉病毒所、中国科学院武汉分院和国家科学技术部基础研究司领导职务。曾先后在加拿大、美国和英国相关学术机构从事合作研究。

曾获中国科学院首届青年科学家奖(1989)、中国科学院有突出贡献中青年专家(1994)、湖北省自然科学一等奖(2015)等荣誉。2015年获加拿大Alberta大学荣誉科学博士学位。
