光合作用是地球上最重要的化学反应之一,放氧光合生物利用太阳能,将二氧化碳转变为有机物,同时释放氧气,为地球上几乎全部生物提供物质能量来源。光合作用分为光反应和暗反应两个阶段。光反应是在光合生物的类囊体膜上进行的,由5个超大的膜蛋白复合物共同完成,光反应过程中产生的ATP和NADPH被后续的暗反应利用,最终生成碳水化合物。对光合作用机理及其调控机制的研究有望为解决当前面临的粮食、能源、环境等问题提供解决方案。
现阶段的研究内容主要集中在以下三个方面:
1. 光反应途径相关膜蛋白及复合物的结构与功能研究;
2. 光合生物对其捕光及电子传递的调节机理;
3. 光合作用暗反应中关键酶及其调控系统的结构与功能研究。
